Full sun produces the densest growth and silvery color, although some afternoon shade can help during Atlanta’s hottest weather. Too much shade may make the plant looser and greener.
Watering
Dry leaves are happy leaves
Once established, Lamb’s Ear handles dry spells well. Water near the soil instead of over the fuzzy foliage, and avoid soggy ground. Good drainage and airflow matter especially in Atlanta’s humidity.
What to expect
Let it spread—or keep dividing
The plant gradually forms a soft mat and may send up fuzzy flower stalks with small purple blooms. Thin crowded patches and remove tired leaves as needed. Dividing the edges is an easy way to keep it tidy and make more plants to share.
